SJBChurchWindowSmall1Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process provided by the Catholic Church to assist adults who wish to learn more about Catholic faith.  The RCIA is designed for adults who have never been baptized, those who have been baptized in another faith tradition and for baptized Catholics who have not yet received the sacraments of Confirmation or Holy Communion.  Sessions which are held throughout the year lead the Candidates through the stages of preparation.  Candidates receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil Liturgy on Holy Saturday.

RCIA Adapted for Children is a process designed by the Catholic Church for children who have not been baptized as infants and are past the age of seven.  This process offers the children special instruction in preparation for the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion). Children attend classes for two years before they are prepared to receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil Liturgy on Holy Saturday.
