As a young priest, St. Gaspar del Bufalo, the founder of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, offered an evening program of spiritual formation for the laborers and farm workers who came into Rome from the countryside to sell their wares.
They were treated as outcasts by the city dwellers. St. Gaspar wanted to bring them back to the Church, and to show those who slept in the streets of Rome that they had value.
Who around us today is suffering from rejection? Whom can we welcome back into the church?
Missionaries of the Precious Blood (C.PP.S.), whose members minister in this parish, celebrate the 200th anniversary of their founding in 2015.
